I have a DXG-567V HD camera and the screen has now gone black?
The screen is completely black except for the normal icons that would usually be on there, I have taken the batteries out and turned the camera on and off but, nothing… How can I fix this?
Be sure the cap is off and recording media is installed. Check the settings to see if the LCD display was deactivated. It may be a loose connection inside the cam.

i am looking at a couple particularly the flip video and the creative vado… but do these work well on a mac? if not what’s a good choice instead?

Depends on the Mac – most of these low-end camcorders record in a very highly compressed MPEG2 format that requires you to convert the file using StreamClip (check the apple.com downloads area) before loading the clips to iMovie.
I *think* the only manufacturer that uses an easier, more Mac-friendly, file type is Kodak. I am pretty sure thy save to .mov (QuickTime) format. But I can’t comment on how good these low-end camcorders are…
